Founder and CEO, Phil Dubinsky, CPA

Phil Dubinsky initially spent 5 years at the public accounting firm of KPMG where he was involved in the audits of public and private middle-market companies. After 4 years in financial services, Phil was recruited by Mahoney Cohen, CPA’s, a New York city based middle-market accounting firm to start up their outside finance and accounting recruiting division. During his 16 year tenure at the firm, Phil built the recruiting practice from inception to a successful and profitable business.

After attending M &A conferences throughout the years and speaking to private equity investors all over the United States, Phil discovered that after an acquisition, that there was a need to recruit and retain a combination of a strategic and hands-on CFO who could help professionalize the back office as well as provide the metrics and key performing indicators that are required by private equity investors. In 2011, Phil founded Thoroughbred CFO.

Phil has spoken on several panels for ACG and FEI, in regards to CFO’s. In 2012, Phil wrote an article called, “What it takes to be a successful CFO for a middle-market company backed by a private equity firm.”

Phil is active in professional affiliations which include: Association for Corporate Growth, Alliance for M&A Advisors, The M &A Source, Financial Executives International and Junto Professional Services Group. Phil earned his BBA degree in accounting from Pace University in New York City.
